Accessibility
Built for everyone to use
A transparency tool only works if everyone can actually use it. This site is designed to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or any assistive technology.
Our standard
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA and Section 508, the standards for public-sector digital content.
California law already requires a district to post its accountability plan in an accessible format, and federal rules under the Americans with Disabilities Act require public agency websites to meet modern accessibility standards. A dense PDF rarely clears that bar. An accessible, plain-language site does, and it serves families far better.
What that means here
- Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline on every control
- Labels for screen readers on every button, link, chart, and data point
- Information is never carried by color alone; we pair it with text and icons
- Text, layout, and charts reflow when you zoom in or enlarge text
- Reduced-motion support for anyone who prefers less movement
- Color contrast that meets the WCAG AA standard throughout
- Clear, semantic headings and a skip-to-content link
